I grew up in a former one-room schoolhouse amid the farmland and forests of western Pennsylvania. My family and surroundings nurtured my innate love of rural life and the animals and plants that go with it.

 

From an early age I loved drawing and writing. After graduating from college as an art major, I began freelancing for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review newspaper, Pennsylvania Magazine, Westsylvania and other publications.

 

My work has appeared in Guideposts, Woman’s World, Old House Journal, EQUUS, Draft Horse Journal, Mother Earth News and other outlets. I’ve also done content writing and copywriting for senior care providers and marketing agencies.

When I'm not busy writing, I enjoy reading, drawing, taking photos and caring for my plants.
